７月の15日と29日に、イラスト教室を開催します。
お題は、「オリジナルキャラクターのトートバックを作ろう！」です。

今日、このブログでは、イラスト教室でお伝えしようと思っている「オリジナルキャラクターの描き方」をまとめようと思います。

ポイントは３つです。
①擬人化
②基本形から考える
③個性を出す

①擬人化

キャラクターを作るには、「擬人化」が有効です。
具体的には、以下の３つが簡単です。

・物や植物に顔を描く
・４本足の動物を立たせる
・人間みたいな事をさせる……etc

ねこを立たせると、ちょっとユーモラスに
人間みたいな事をさせると、キャラが引き立つ


②基本形から考える

キャラクターは、基本形（◯△□）の組み合わせでキャラクターを描いて行くのが簡単です。

③個性を出す

個性は、料理で言う「スパイス」みたいな物だと思います。
効かせると、一気にイラストがよくなります。
個性を出す方法を、３つ紹介します。

・【誇張】：パーツを大袈裟に小さくしたり、大きくしたりします
・【キャラクター＋α】：小道具を持たせたり、仲間や背景と組み合わせます
・【設定を考えてみる】：キャラクターの性格や世界観を考える事で深みが出ます
　……etc

鼻を大きくする【誇張】
プレゼントを持たせる【キャラクター＋α】

以上が、イラスト教室でお伝えしようと思っている内容です。

キャラクターの作り方は、作家さんの数だけ方法があると思うし、これが全てでは全然ありません。
このやり方がやりにくい人もいると思います。

色々なイラストを見て、自分に合ったやり方を見つけて行くのが良いと思います。

[Illustration class] Draw an original character

Illustration classes will be held on July 15th and 29th.
The theme is “Let’s make an original character tote bag!”

Today, in this blog, I would like to summarize the “how to draw an original character” that I am going to tell you in the illustration class.

There are three points.
①Personification
② Think from the basic form
③ Give individuality

①Personification

“Personification” is effective for creating characters.
Specifically, the following three are easy.

・Draw faces on objects and plants
・Make a four-legged animal stand
・Make them act like humans……etc.

If you do something like a human, the character will stand out
If you do something like a human, the character will stand out

② Think from the basic form

As long as you’re not used to it, it’s easy to draw a character by combining the basic shapes (◯△□).

square + square = robot
Ellipse + circle = polar bear

③ Give individuality

I think individuality is something like “spice” in cooking.
If you use it, the illustration will improve at once.
Here are three ways to express yourself.

・[Exaggerate]: Exaggerately reduce or enlarge parts
・[Character + α]: Have props, combine with friends and backgrounds
・[Think about the setting]: Thinking about the character’s personality and worldview creates depth
…… etc.

This is what I am trying to convey in the illustration class.

I think there are as many ways to create characters as there are writers, and this is not the only way.
I know some people find it difficult to do this.
